I’ve always enjoyed cocktails. I love the glassware, the garnishments, the detail. I love that there are endless combinations of spirits, aperitifs and bitters that can be mixed with fresh citrus and seasonal produce. Mostly, I love the art of making something beautiful and delicious at the end of the day. For me, cocktail hour is taking a moment to be grateful for being alive. You may have had a fantastic day and are feeling happy or you had a less than fantastic day but survived it. Either way, it’s time to make a cocktail! This is my cocktail journal with recipes and notes. Please raise a glass and follow along! Cheers!
More about the writer:
My name is Jenny deMars and I live in Tacoma, WA. I started this blog during the pandemic, using my quarantine time to try different cocktails each night and learning a lot along the way. Friends began asking me for tips and recipes and a blog seemed like a good way to share. When I’m not cocktailing, I’m raising two kids and a golden retriever. When the northwest weather permits, you will typically find me in the garden, nature’s intoxicant. My husband, Adam, is not much for drinking but enjoys the beauty of a well formed cocktail, enabling my habit with field trips to the liquor store. It’s wonderful to meet you, now let’s make a beautiful drink!
